Robbie Balon is a sportswriter for Newsnight who lives with his wife, Debbie, and their 3 children. Across the street from him lives Robbie’s parents and his older brother who has yet to find a place of his own. Robbie is a loving father but no matter how hard he tries, he can’t compensate for his careless nature. He loves his wife Debbie, but is afraid of upsetting her. To make matters worse, Robbie’s mom frequently comes over and complains about how “dirty” the house always is. After years of resistance, Robbie finally has to bite the bullet and hire a housekeeper to placate his mother and make it up to his wife for letting everything become such a mess.
